World Bank mission visits Moribane Forest (April 2008)
As part of a general mission to assess progress on the Transfrontier Conservation Area programme in Mozambique, the World Bank mission led by Jean-Michel Pavy (Programme Director) and including several World Bank staff, tourism advisors and the TFCA management spent more than two hours in Moribane Forest on 21 April. The visit was hosted by members of the community, particularly the founding members of Kubatana Association Moribane, the group with which Eco-MICAIA Ltd is working on the eco-camp.
Andrew and Milagre outlined plans for the eco-camp, and then took some of the visitors around the chosen site. Meanwhile, other members of the group met with the community to understand more about the developing relationship between MICAIA and the community.
The visit was a great success, and for our community partners it was a sign that the project is really serious and moving ahead.
